Planned as a large-scale rehabilitation and resettlement development for the Dal Lake dwellers, this project for the Jammu & Kashmir Housing Board is a landmark initiative that balances social responsibility with sensitive urban design. Spanning 250 acres, the township has been conceived to provide dignified and sustainable living environments while preserving the ecological and cultural context of Srinagar.

R. K & Associates’ master planning approach focuses on creating a self-sufficient community equipped with essential social infrastructure, including schools, healthcare facilities, community centers, and landscaped public spaces. The design emphasizes efficient land use, accessibility, and climate-responsive planning suited to the region’s unique terrain and environmental conditions. With its focus on inclusivity, resilience, and contextual harmony, this project stands as a model for responsible urban development, demonstrating how architecture can serve as a bridge between progress and preservation.
